Introduction
Flow forming is a special forming method that fixes a flat plate or hollow blank on the die of a spinning machine. While the blank rotates with the spindle of the machine tool, a spinning wheel or a driving rod is used to pressurize the blank to produce local plastic deformation. The spinning process can complete the drawing, flanging, shrinking, bulging and curling of rotating bodies of various shapes.
Flow Forming Processing normally are following next step:
Fixed the round metal on the machine mandrel.
The mandrel drives the round metal sheet to rotate with high speed , and the tool with a rotating wheel begins to press the metal surface until the metal sheet is completely fitted to the inner wall of the mold.
After the molding is completed, the mandrel is removed and the top and bottom of the part are cut off for demolding.
Flow forming is a powerful metal forming process that offers numerous advantages over traditional manufacturing methods. Its high material utilization, precision, and cost-effectiveness make it an attractive choice for industries requiring high-quality components. As research continues to advance, we can expect even more improvements in the process, further expanding its range of applications and enhancing the performance of manufactured parts.
